About this service

Next Step is a publicly funded service, helping adults get the advice they need for future skills, careers, work and life choices.  Our experienced advisors will base their advice on what is best for you.

Our Statement for Advice & Guidance

1. •eQAS Training advice and guidance advisors will help clients to use the Next Step Service either online, by telephone or face-to –face to access the same high quality service.  To ensure that this happens eQAS Training will:
   

2. •Deliver a high quality and personalised service that provides information, advice and support on skills, careers and learning opportunities to clients that reflects labour market intelligence
   

3. •Provide skills assessment services to identify skills needs and include the production of a Skills Action Plan
   

4. •Ensure customers are able to make an informed choice about where they learn by access to user-friendly information on courses and providers
   

5. •Ensure we continue to build and develop a strong network of referrals agencies and local community networks to help individuals overcome barriers they may face to getting on in learning, work and life.
   

6. •Ensure we provide a personalised advice for work and life reflecting individual needs and situations
   

7. •Enable clients to manage their own careers and provide an appropriate level of support to meet their needs
   

Planning Your Career

Career planning is part of what you do when you’re thinking about a new career, or you would like to progress in the career you are in.  You might want to make a complete change, or just improve where you are at the moment.

When you are planning this you need to consider several things:

2. •what you would like to do next
   

3. •what else you need to learn
   

We can help and support you in looking at all these things to help you with your career planning.

Getting a Job

Looking for work takes time and efforts and we can give you support with this.  Whether you have recently lost your job or been unemployed for a while, we can help you improve your chances of getting back in to work through our range of courses and workshops including:

We can give you free advice and support on returning to work, re-training and information on how to pay for your learning.
